Henk Prins takes over as chair of Vessels for the Future from Pierre Sames this month. At the last Board of Directors meeting of Vessels for the Future, held on 4 October, the Board thanked Pierre for his efforts in establishing a solid base for Vessels for the Future, from which it can now move forward, and for his significant contribution in promoting the case for research funding by the European Commission. European Research Association â€˜Vessels for the Futureâ€™ held its 3rd General Assembly in the Hamburg office of DNV-GL on 28th April 2016.
The session was chaired by Dr Pierre Sames, the current Chairman of the Association, and progress reports on the 2015/16 activities were presented by the Executive Director Chris Campbell. Read more
The European Research Association â€œVessels for the Futureâ€ is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Campbell as Executive Director of the Association. This was agreed at the Associationâ€™s board meeting held on 28 April 2015. This new position will enable the work of the Association to step up a gear in its work on developing the case for investment in future ship innovation through a contractual Public Private Partnership with the European Commission. The European maritime industry launched the European Research Association “Vessels for the Future” with its first general assembly on 5 November 2014. “I am happy to see 50 companies, research institutes, academic organisations and interested associations joining this initiative,” said Dr. Pierre C. Sames (DNV GL), Chairman of the Research Association. “The initiative will promote and facilitate maritime research, development and innovation with a focus on vessels and waterborne operations”.
